The location of the hotel is excellent. But that is only a great thing about it. Ok, the view from the room was great as well!
The room plan is really odd with a semi open toilet and shower, which gives you no privacy if you are not travelling alone.
Equipment in the bathroom is really outdated. You can see a lot of things that are outdated and need replacement.
It is very hard to figure out where entrance is to the hotel due to construction and no clear markings. I would appreciate it if the hotel had sent an email update about it because it was for sure, not the first day of construction.
There was also no fridge in the room.
And the service unfortunately was not helpful, since there was an issue in my room which didn't get solved while I was staying.
Good location near the Leiden Central station, however it was unnecessarily difficult to locate the entrance of the reception, wellness facilities and floor with appointed room due to the odd floor plan and elevator construction. Also, the elevator was not working properly and myself and my family were stuck at the parking level for quite some time. Also, when accessing the necessary floors such as parking, the access to the doors was very limited and we found ourselves getting stuck most of the time and having to rescue each other from closed doors with access badges.
The staff was friendly, but the room facilities were quite basic (no fridge) and the wellness facilities closed an hour earlier than was indicated. Because of the elevators not working, odd floor plan and limited access, we were only able to spend a very short amount of time at the wellness center.
Unexciting but perfectly OK hotel without much atmosphere. No fridge in my room. Very close to the station. The breakfast buffet was fine, with scrambled eggs and a few other warm items. The hotel is slightly hard to find as it’s within a large corporate building.
I didn't like this place. Weird design. 17.50€ for parking per day, only one elevator goes to and from parking-garage. Reception in the top-floor, so the one elevator that can go all the way down is very busy during rush-hour.
The room was okay, quiet and clean.
We had buffet with group of around 20 people. 39€ each (drinks not included). The food was absolutely abysmal for this price. They only used the cheapest ingredients, so there were like four different types of cheap, cold salads and only one type of warm meat (chicken on a stick), which was the only outright good-tasting dish they had. The same thing with breakfast. Only the cheapest of stuff. Industrial, super low-cost bread-products (the type you can buy in the supermarket to bake up in your home-oven). No fresh juice, but at least some fresh fruit. Cheapskates.
Soft-drink prices are insane (0.2l for 3.2€, no larger bottles available).
The street-food right around the corner is very good. Go there instead, if you are hungry.
Great location, right next to train station. Room service OK. Our room seemed to be next to a room used by staff so noisy at night and early morning. We were on Level 10. Swimming pool good (early swim).
It was a terrible experience. We booked a stay via trip.com and i noticed that the booking was pending. A while later we got confirmation that everything was OK (booking number, credit card was charged). However to be 100% sure i contacted the hotel itself and they confirmed that everything was OK. The next day we wanted to check in but the staff told us there wasn't a booking and that they hadn't any room left. The employees were not willing to find any solution and the only thing they wanted to say about it was that we had to solve it ourselves. So we did. We called trip.com and they were most helpful in trying to solve it. However they couldn't get in touch with the hotel directly. At the same time we managed to book a room in another hotel in the neighbourhood. Additionally we were still able to book a room at Fletcher's for that same night via ***********. The employee didn't have a clue why this could occur . Conclusion : malfunctions can happen but then the employees should handle this in a professional way and not move their problem to the customer.
This large hotel is next to Leiden Central Station, however, you wonder where it is as it isn't at all well signposted. We passed the main entrance as there was no sign and wandered around despite using Google Maps. The main entrance door was smashed and was boarded up badly. ||I stayed in Room 1121 and was a mission to get there, I needed to take a lift to a certain level, walk along the corridor to catch another lift to take me to the level where my room was located. The carpet was dirty, the matress of the bed was too soft and sank. The duvet cover was stained and the bed made up tidy. The room was dark and dull. ||The worst part of my bedroom was; there was a depressing painting on the bedroom wall of a naked old woman with weighing scales, some kind of justice system painting. I felt I was in a jail about to go to court for a crime. Why would a hotel put a picture of this in a room!???||I love a good breakfst and the first morning, I decided to have breakfast at the hotel, which was continental and very ordinary! Nothing at all special. It consisted of; cold meats, cheese, coffee, bread etc. The scrambled egg, bacon and sausage were warm and not very tasty. Luckily, I didn't have to pay for this bad breakfast as they forgot to charge me. :-)||I didn't benefit from using the Spa on offer as they tell you when you get there that it is limited from 9.00 hrs - 10.30 hrs, which I though was pointless.||The positves of this hotel are; the location is excellent as it is very central and next Leiden Central Station, my bedroom had a very good powerful modern shower, the bar is a very nice place to have a drink at, the staff are professional and friendly.
No signage outside the hotel so you spend 15 minutes cursing Google maps before you wonder whether the entrance to what looks life offices might be the place. Of the 12 floors, the top 4 are the hotel. There are also conference facilities on 5th floor.|Ok so here’s where the craziness starts: reception is on 12 floor but also doubles as the reception to their spa. We had rooms on 11th floor but to get there you had to take the lift to the 10th floor walk along a corridor to block B and take lift up to 11th.|This is because of the wellness spar on the 11th (which you could get to by lift)|Room was clean, spacious and had decent size shower. Not much in the way of soaps: just one dispenser in the shower. No fridge but to be honest I was glad to have found the place by then.|Breakfast was pretty average. Hot foods poorly replenished.|We are at the restaurant one evening: once again pretty average. |All staff were very pleasant and hotel is in a great location close to station but these positives would not be enough to entice me back. |Fine for a night on business but not a place to use as a base for several days.
