Fletcher Resort-Hotel Zutphen

Came in with low expectations given the low room rate... and it was still disappointing. Tired and sad place. Very cramped room with just the bare minimums. Room was freezing cold upon arrival and barely got to comfortable despite heat being full on for 4 days straight.
The smell... musty smell of old. Unpleasant.
Housekeeping apparently only comes when you put the "please make up my room" sign... which isn't noted a anywhere.
The breakfast was OK but a bit pricey for what you get. IF IT HASN'T RUN OUT.
On Sundays, breakfast runs till 11. Being out of just about everything just after 10 is not OK. Luckily I saw it was all gone before signing up for the day.

I'll probably choose to spend more next time I'm in the area so I'm not stuck with the sad smelly place. I recommend you do the same unless you're looking to be sad.

Stayed there a couple times for work in the last month. I stayed in three different rooms. The last of them was more dated than the first two & with no electricity near the bedside table. That was a bit inconvenient. The other rooms were a bit more modern & have plenty of outlets. All the rooms were very tidy & clean. There's housekeeping every day, and plenty of towels, bins, soap, etc. Some rooms have a water boiler and some tea and coffee. There's also room service (I didnt use it). Each room has a heater, and you need to check for yourself at which temperature you wanna put it (it hadn't been done by housekeeping). The shower is in a bath, so very spacious, and it has good water pressure & heats up fast. Walls are a bit thin but it's usually quiet at about 22-22:30h-ish. Bonuses are: plenty of parking spaces, pool, sauna, bowling alley and food available. Excellent location right at the edge of the city, near the main roads. City centre quite far but reachable by bus. Supermarkets are close and open up early. All-in-all a pleasant stay.

Never choose this hotel. What kind of a 4 star hotel is this!! There's no one in charge at the reception! They also advertise a sauna and pool in their advertisements, but after we checked in, they said that the pool and sauna were under renovation. Apart from that, the heater in the room does not work and it is 7 degrees!!!!!!

There is something wrong with the insulation/piping in this hotel - we were on the first floor. It was a relatively cool evening and even with the window open it was so hot in the room it was almost impossible to sleep. This was the same in other rooms as other guests complained the same. When I asked to change room, the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful.

I would a large toenail in the middle of the floor on the room when I arrived indicating it was clearly not vacuumed very well

The hotel as a whole is quite outdated in looks (including the rooms/bathroom), but our room was very clean and neat, and functional. It's nice that there's an option to go swimming in the pool.

Friendly stuff. Good breakfast. Dinner 3/10

At 2pm no one was after working at the bistro, you always have to call them.
The employers are eating in the same area as customers and talk about work and having some food.
If someone is waiting at the bar the only say you have to call instead of helping.

The hotel is not 4 stars worthy. Swimming pool is dirty, very cold, sauna is not good maintained, a lot of spikes are coming out and are really hot.

In the room a lot of dust and old cards and magazines.
In the shower the soap pump was broken.

Bowling is closed after 8pm.

Only stayed in there for 2 days but epic decent pool and lovely staff
