Came here on a Monday. Good value for money 💰
They’ve got complimentary sunscreen 🧴 and body wash (+shampoo and conditioner). So all you gotta bring is a bathrobe, towel, flip flops and a bottle of water.
Since there’s a no outside food policy you gotta make use of the facility’s restaurant.
🍔🍟🥤We had 2 burgers with fries and 2 soft drinks = ~ €53,50
My favorite pool was the salt water pool which makes you float 🛁 All of the facilities look aesthetically appealing to the eye.
However.. It was extremely crowded. We couldn’t enter some facilities (saunas). In addition, there were a few groups consisting of young men who seemed to be focusing a lot on young women. I had 3 encounters with these type of guys which made me feel like I was in a vulnerable position.
Overall we got to try out different types of saunas (and pool) we never had before. Everything looked neat and clean 🧼 We got home satisfied and relaxed.
Wellness resort has enormous amount of different saunas. All are clean and well maintained. Even on a crowded day (sunday in winter) you can always find a less crowded sauna and later in the evening you can be even alone. Very beautiful swimming pool inside. Burgers in the restaurant are very delicious and highly recommended. The restaurant menu is various and it has reasonable prices. Of course, the ceremonies in sauna is the highlight, you should not miss them!
All the saunas the same and only one cold bath that wasn't that cold despite there being lots of lakes (but no allowed in them). In fact the visit is dominated by what you are not allowed to do, staff super strict about flip flops.
With expansive spas popping up all over Northern Europe, Elysium has been there for a while, and in that regard, it’s showing its age. That said, it’s still one of my favorites. There’s an excellent choice of pools, including a waterfall grotto and and newer salt pool. The saunas seem small compared to some of the newer places, but for me, the various bathing options make it worth the trouble to get there. I wish it were easier to do so on public transit.
I might add that if you’re uncomfortable with nudity, this is not the place for you. Even amongst various spas in the Netherlands, this one seems more naked than most.
Don’t bother.
The two stars are because you have a working spa - you heat the rooms and blow the bubbles, but that’s about all.
I’ve been here four times, because I wanted to give it a fair go. But now I am just disappointed that I have wasted money on the subsequent three visits. It’s just not worth it (and the staff don’t care either).
The outside area is uninspiring and there aren’t many attractions out there. If you go when it’s dark, the lighting is poor and very dreary looking.
Inside there is a lot more to do. However, the place is regularly oversold and therefore crowded. If your idea of relaxation is marching around behind huge groups of people who are all trying to cram into the tiny remaining spaces available, then this place will be heaven for you. Probably the best you’ll find.
I won’t be handing over any more money for such a terrible experience. They clearly place a higher importance on taking as much money as possible than they do about creating a wonderful relaxing spa experience for the patrons.
Read between the lines in the other reviews… the same information is there. People saying it’s nice “on the quieter days” or “once I got used to it” or “it wasn’t to my liking” or “overpriced restaurant”. Here’s the thing: the patrons really do WANT this place to be good, but we’re all just making excuses for how far short of good it falls. It’s a shame really.
Too expensive, too dirty, incredibly unfriendly staff. Small water bottle 6€ without refilling option anywhere. We won’t come back.
Me and my wife came here on the last swimsuit Thursday. When I booked I tried to add a ritual or a massage and they were all sold out.
On the day we arrived I asked again and they had a few rituals left that we added on, very glad we did. The ritual was great!
the saunas and pools inside are a bit loud and you never really have a quiet moment. Outside is a lot more quiet and less busy.
I especially liked the do it your self salt scrub and the cold waterfall in side.
They made me rent a bathrobe to use in the restaurant as they label t-shirts as outside clothing, lol. €11.50 for the bathrobe was a bit of a downer
Came here on a Friday, it wasn’t too crowded. The spa itself was quite big (a lot bigger than I expected), food in the restaurant was good.
