BADHUS @ De Ceuvel (private bookings only)

Very cute private sauna that's great for small groups or for couples & friends! 10/10 recommend for relaxing and swimming ☺️

Overall we enjoyed our time at the sauna but find it hard to recommend this based on our experience with the company.
We wanted to make a change with our booking and were unable to reach the owners via the company email, phone number or provided WhatsApp. We have still received no reply.
We went for the dinner&dip which was at 6pm. It was pretty dark and the deck was expectedly slippery. There is a sauna and the dip area, and a minimal shower (with no gripped surface).
There was a broken hole in the deck right in front of the sauna that I stepped through and cut my leg. It was very difficult to see but these things happen. However I told the contact number about this and again received no response. All I expected was a commitment to fix that hole as it’s quite dangerous but again got no reply from the company.
It’s a shame as we did enjoy ourselves and dinner at de Ceuvel was great. But next time we will use one of the other sauna offerings in the city.

BADHUS is an experience that I would highly recommend. It’s a retreat from the busy city and the view makes you feel like you’re in an entirely different, tranquil place. We were lucky enough to have an evening session and enjoyed a beautiful sunset. Definitely follow the circuit between the hot tubs, sauna and most importantly a cold dip in the water. You’ll feel rejuvenated before heading back into the city

My group and I had a lovely experience here. We booked the special session “Café de Ceuvel x BadHus DIP&DINE” which included first a 90 minutes sauna and ice bad session, following dinner (including 2 drinks and either starter/main dish or main dish/desert) at the cafe. The ambiance was just amazingly chill, the staff friendly and helpful. We booked in advance and they were compliant to our wishes and spontaneous changes of the amount of people joining our group. Great experience and opportunity to get a little time out from busy Amsterdam City Centre.

Badhus is the most beautiful hidden gem this city holds. We spend our summer evening dipping in the ice cold bathtub, sitting in the sauna, and swimming in the lake, while the sun was slowly sinking in the water. The owner Julie was the best host we could wish for and even organized we could enjoy food and drinks by Cafe de Ceuvel at our private spot. Planning my next visit already.

BADHUS was unreal! What an amazing experience in such a special setting - it’s so tranquil it feels like you’re miles from Amsterdam. I would highly recommend this for a date night, group activity, or just something to treat yourself! Don’t be afraid of the cold water plunge either - it really adds to the experience. Can’t wait to come back!

Celebrated my birthday here with a few friends and this place did not disappoint! We enjoyed the sauna, cold plunges and sat around the fire as the sun set. The space is beautiful and well taken care of, would definitely recommend if your looking for a unique space to celebrate something special.
