I love everything about this sauna, it has a very cozy atmosphere, especially the Kruidenbad, and varieties of saunas and hot tubs. Shampoo and body scrub are available as well. Sahel was very helpful and kind during my visit. Thank you!
Great Sauna, not to big.
Severall different sauna's and bubblebaths. All is proper and clean.
Nice ambiance with kind hosts. Food is good.
Relaxing zones inside are coasy.
This could be a nice sauna if the owners took care of it, but many of the amenities are broken and have been broken for months. They don’t seem to care about repairing it and give no indication of when it will be fixed.
The staff don’t seem to care about providing good service either.
The place is in desperate need of new management.
Don’t waste your money. Go somewhere else.
The space is great, well positioned and has a variety if saunas and baths. The hot sauna outside could have a water can so you can add water, every sauna has it. The bath with aroma inside smells like soap, something more natural would be great. The lounge spaces are nicely designed and have quality sittings, pillows. The biggest disappointment is the restaurant. Not only it looks like kitschy rustic, but the food is below mediocre. The ‘poke bowl’ tastes like some rice you forgot in the fridge for a couple of days—you could tell the chef that hot with cold isn’t good for digestion and taste. Mayo on top isn’t something I want and don’t put the soya recipient in my bowl. The soups are mediocre too. Food is not cheap here but definitely it’s a weak point of the place. All the time I end up wanting to serve food from elsewhere while being in this nice place.
An incredibly nice spa. There were probably only 20-30 people max during my visit, which I was told is typical during the summer months. This made the space feel very open and inviting as it wasn’t busy at all.
The Opgieting ritual was very nice and intense, with a session every 2 hours, lasting about 10-15 minutes each, with mixed types of music and scents.
I particularly enjoyed the Caldarium and the cold tub. The garden is very beautiful and appears to be well kept. The entire place has a lovely atmosphere and nice cozy decorations. The menu is also quite nice. I had the burrata salad and the seasonal broccoli soup, both were fantastically delicious.
The downsides I found are the archaic need to pay a one euro coin to open the gate to the parking lot; it cannot be assumed these days that people even have a one euro coin on hand. I also feel like the infrared sauna in the garden is too cramped, your back is really too close to the lamp. The indoor infrared sauna is very good, though if you’re a big person your butt might fall mostly off of the small stools. Lastly, i felt there was a missing middle ground in the showers, there are hot and cold showers, but none i found with adjustable temperatures, which means that after an infrared, hottub, steam bath or caldarium stay, there isnt really a nice option to wash yourself. Similarly, the cold showers can feel too cold after a short stay in a lower heat sauna too.
I have visited this sauna for years on and off! Its a. Classic story of a sauna that looks great but has no soul. Everytime i turn up there appears to be new staff! The showers over the years have continued to be not hot! Theres always a sauna in repair and generally mostly empty of customers. Food on this occasion was fresh ( pokebowl).
If you enjoy peace and quiet its a great place ! If you like aufguss itsa almost never available.
So to sum up a nice place to visit! Shame they don’t listen to customers over the shower temperature but i guess having s do n how few people visit they have to compensate is some way to cover their costs! The newest manager is very polite!
Very charming spa with more local vibe. The interior is more classical style with Roman sculpture and wooden structures etc.
Pros:
- friendly staff
- It’s smaller than Spa Zuiver in Amsterdam, but here they also have a wide variety of sauna & pool & jacuzzi, and a cute garden where you can relax. You can easily spend half day
- sleeping area with Indonesian theme looks authentic and cool
-The lounge space is also very nice with cozy couch, coushion and fireplace.
-the sauna smells very nice and relaxing.
Cons:
- Food in the restaurant was terrible. The worst poke bowl I had I my life. Especially the rice…it was so bad that I couldn’t believe😱it tasted like it was left it in fridge without any lid for about 5days. Smoothie and bitterballen was fine. It’s really shame that the food is bad as the restaurant itself is cute and nice place to relax.
- Changing room was small and too bright, rather awkward sometimes
Overall, it’s a great place for a relaxing weekend in Haarlem! Just don’t eat in here, go to Haarlem city center for restaurant.
Very nice experience at this spa, the place is Lovely but the reception was rude. We wanted to have dinner but the receptionist didn't want to help us to make a table for three, so after a couple of hour enjoying the spa I sent to the waitress, who was so sweet and very nice and she help us with the table. After that we were super happy with everything, food was very nice
