Huize Hölterhof Sauna, Beauty en Wellness Hotel

We booked the gold package, which includes a massage and a few items of food as well as sauna and pool use.

Cons:
The massages, while accurate to what was described, really ruined the experience. The massage therapist had a cold or was sick. She also had long fingernails which were super uncomfortable, it felt more like getting scratched by a cat rather than a massage.
The main staff that was welcoming guests was rude.
Also, it was our first time here and we got no instructions or information on where to find things, or what to expect. We were often wandering around or having to chase down staff to ask questions.. This could have been better if they would have given us an info sheet or something beforehand.

Pros:
Saunas are clean and spacious.
The massage therapists were kind.

We were here to enjoy the sauna. It's ok, nothing really fancy but was good enough for us.
I approached the receptionist for a small problem, but she never came to assist me. Unprofessional!!!!!

Didn’t know what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised by the facilities and the entourage. We were used to the massiveness of the big thermen sauna’s, but this was a surprising change. Staff was very friendly and made us feel right at home. The sauna facilities were clean and there were enough sauna’s to never have to wait anywhere. I can not give the kitchen enough compliments. The food was the best I have ever tasted in all the sauna’s I have been in. Ever! You simply have to taste the french fries!||They don’t cut corners on the food they prepare for their guests. It was the ultimate pampering for the tastebuds. The hotel facilities were adequate. Clean with comfortable beds. The only negative was the promise of a mini bar which was not there. Also disabled people may have difficulty getting around because of the many steps and stairs. We went for a walk in the beautiful Aamsveen wich was within walking distance.||We most certainly will stay with them again, we had a great time.

Looks like an old farm from the outside. The room are very basic but not bad. Wellness facilities are very good and the staff is very friendly and forward leaning. We had food in the bistro which was very good. Prices are readable and you get real value for money. Good for wellness or to go for a wake or a bike ride. I can recommend this place, you wont be disappointed.

- the actual hotel rooms are poorly soundproofed, one night the couple above us was very loud during their mating rituals
- the breakfast, although of good quality, lacks variation.
- we went to the spa on a Monday and it was a bit crowded. I imagine it very busy on the weekends

The hotel is situated on the outskirts of Enschede, but still close enough to the city. If you book a one night stay, you're allowed to use the sauna/pool facilities for free for one day. There's a really good choice in sauna's and they do "aufguss" really well. (Try to find out in advance if it's a badingsuit day or not). The sauna restaurant is seperated from the normal restaurant. The food is good. The people that work there are friendly. Breakfast is ok, but could be better if it included stuff like eggs sunny side up. It does offer salmon, all kinds of cheese, ham, sausage etc, sprinkles, hazelnut paste, jam, fresh fruits and yoghurts. So not really complaining. The room we had looked nice, the bed was great, minibar, coffee/tea machine, flat screen tv... it was all provided for. Only small minus: the bathroom. It was clean, it looked modern. It did have a hairdryer, but is was on the small side. Again: not really complaining. It is a really nice hotel and we're going back there soon. The Wellness facilities are a big plus for us!

Huize Hölterhof Wellness Hotel Restaurant has an outdoor pool and views of the garden. Free private parking is available on site. Rooms are small, but include a flat-screen TV, a bar and you have tea and coffee making facilities.They also offer balcony where you can sit and enjoy the view of the garden. The rooms are equipped with a bathroom and great towels. The staff is very friendly and the food is excellent. They served us breakfast half an hour before the normal time as we had to drive to the port in Hook. Thank you to the chef and staff for everything. Would return.

Hotel arrangements were good, bed comfortable and room well prepared, breakfast to normal standards, all functioned well. Spa, sauna and pool first rate. If planning to use wellness aspects, guests need to be know that spa, sauna and swimming pool are non swimming costume - we had not been aware of this when booking but in the event thoroughly enjoyed the ambience and facilities. If in the area again, we'd look forward to returning.
